Mid-Year Reflections

Is it just me…
Or does it feel like the first half of the year just went by at supersonic speed?
As Summer Solstice is upon us, it’s that time of year that everyone looked forward to on New Year’s Eve.  It’s bathing suit season, and the sun should be shining, so it’s time to get outside and play.  Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s slow down and reflect on all that’s happened since the New Year.  If you would like to reflect as I do, here are some questions to help you percolate on what’s been going on and where we want to go.

  • What were my goals at the beginning of this year?
  • Are my goals the same — or have things changed?
  • Is there something I’ve been doing lately — like going out to dinner too much, training for a marathon, or any kind of commitment — that’s not feeling “right” anymore? Do I need to keep doing it? What would happen if I just stopped?
  • What’s something I’m sick of hearing myself say, over and over? Like, “I really need to start…” “I really need to stop…” “Seriously, for real, this week I will…”

Take some time to think about these things.  It doesn’t have to be just about fitness, nutrition, and health, although those are my passion so they’re the things I’ll talk to you about. Take a holistic approach to this; your emotional and mental state can often be huge factors in whether or not you succeed.
After that, let’s look forward to what we can do for the rest of the year.  Whatever your desires are, I hope they will always lead you to a healthier, happier, more fulfilling life.  That’s my personal goal for all the people in my life, on top of whatever goals you have for yourself.  But that is my goal for you, which only matters if you want the same thing.

Here is where we turn around and ask again, what are your goals? How can we help you reach them? If some of your goals are fitness related, come in to find out how we can help you achieve them. We’ll start with a free body composition test. Once we know your starting point, together we can create an action plan with real goals and the steps to accomplish them.
